Travelsoft Pay partners with Mastercard to develop the next generation of payments

Tuesday 3 March — Travelsoft Pay today announced a strategic partnership with Mastercard to optimize payment flows within the global travel ecosystem, by offering a secure, scalable and specially adapted payment infrastructure for the travel industry, designed for modern B2B commerce in this field.
This collaboration combines Mastercard's proven network and technology with the Travelsoft Group's 25 years of deep expertise in the travel industry. Travelsoft's platforms support hundreds of customers around the world and treat 50 billion euros in annual gross goods value (GMV) in the travel sector, thus supporting reservation processes and operational flows that are essential to the entire industry.
Travelsoft Pay, the new payments company within the Travelsoft Group, offers a platform designed to automate collections and disbursements, reduce operational complexity, and provide travel businesses with the transparency and control they need to operate at scale. Thanks to this partnership, the platform will rely on the Mastercard wholesale program (MWP), which has been simplifying B2B payments in the travel ecosystem for over 10 years. The MWP makes travel-related payments based on virtual card numbers (VCNs) easier and safer, offering industry intermediaries flexible, secure, and instantly generated payments.
“With 25 years of experience developing technologies that connect the global travel ecosystem, we know what our customers need: reliability, transparency, and trust,” said Christian Sabbagh, CEO of Travelsoft Group. “By combining Mastercard's cutting-edge technology with Travelsoft Pay's API-based platform, we ensure that every buyer, supplier, and traveller can transact securely, smoothly, and with confidence.”
This partnership also brings a new level of efficiency and security to supplier payments, ensuring that funds are protected, reconciled, and paid out smoothly, while promoting better liquidity management for businesses in the travel sector across multiple countries and currencies.
“Travelsoft Pay was born out of the daily realities of our customers, the travel intermediaries and providers who drive this sector,” said Mary Cotugno, CEO of Travelsoft Pay. “We are building a native and modular cloud platform that is seamlessly integrated with Travelsoft travel systems, using Mastercard technology to automate, evolve, and modernize the way money moves across borders. It's a platform designed for travel, flexible, smart, and built for growth.”
“Together, Mastercard and Travelsoft Pay are building a secure and scalable B2B payments infrastructure that is shaping the future of travel and payments. Our partnership eliminates friction by boosting the entire value chain, from booking to final settlement,” said Chiara Quaia, Senior Vice President, B2B Travel at Mastercard.
